Who am I

I must make a note that this blog, as of yet, is not so much me blogging as it is an online memory storage for ideas and stuff I come across that I think is interesting and worth randomly accessing later. So yes sometimes I might write about things but mostly I just cut and paste stuff and dont say very much about it.

I am an interdisciplinary artist based in Dublin, Ireland. I work across a range of media including electronic art, video, sculpture, installation, net art and text based work. My work operates at points of convergence between fine art, design and philosophy. Points of departure for me are issues concerning our perception of time and space in light of modern media technology. New technologies offer new metaphors for our understanding of memory, space and time but also for the expression of our imaginations, desires and dreams. I am interested in exploring the areas of slippage where we are no longer certain what is memory and what is imagined, or where the real and the virtual fold in on eachother. I attempt to tease out truths where I can or bring to surface the peculiarities inherint within the everyday. The world is unknowable. I merely strive to catch glimpses of this unknowability, first for myself, and if I am able, I utilize the materials I know to share the experience.

I am currently undertaking a Masters in this at the National College of Art and Design here in Dublin.
